The use of new renewable energy sources and the maintenance of investments in hydropower are part of Brazil`s strategy to make its electricity matrix less vulnerable to the consequences of climate change. “About a third of the world`s energy emissions come from the electricity sector. To live up to the Paris Agreement, we therefore need a radical and rapid change in our energy systems in the coming decades – with solar energy at the forefront of this global energy transition. Solar-PV is the only renewable energy source that can be used fairly quickly on rooftops, in the ground and in water without external effects in feasible sizes. Over the past four years, cumulative PV installations have exceeded the 2015 forecast by 36%. That`s good, but not good enough…
