Under the European Community Association Agreement, better known as the Ankara Agreement, Turkish citizens can apply for permission to reside in the UK as Turkish workers on a completely different basis from other migrant workers. Since the visa for Turkish workers benefits from an agreement for the UK`s accession to the EU, this visa option will be concluded after the transition period for new applicants. This appears to put an end to the rights of Turkish workers under the Treaty on European Union under the ACSA at the end of the implementation period.
